Step 6: Select 4-6 Pantone colours for your collection
Step 7: Find images of the fabrics that you will use in your collection. Use the images of the texture of the fabric.
Step 8: Compile a ‘Technical drawing’ for at least 2 garments in your collection showing construction details of your garment, including the fabric details.

Ideal Amount of Pages a Fashion Portfolio Should Have
Your portfolio should be around 20 pages, including a minimum of 16 outfits, and at least 2 seperate ranges or collections.
How Many Designs Should I Include in My Portfolio?
A fashion design portfolio should include your latest work, and it should contain a minimum of around 16 outfits, up to around 30.
By definition of outfits- this could include several garments. So if you include 16 outfits, it could very well be around 20 different garments. ( as some may be a top and a skirt- as opposed to just a dress.)
In addition, try to include at least 2-4 different collection themes in your portfolio. For example collection theme # 1 could include 8 complete outfits, and collection theme #2 could have another 8 outfits, equaling a total of around 16 outfits as a minimum.
When it comes to your portfolio- less is more, so only include your strongest work. For example don’t throw in old work that you aren’t proud of- just to make your portfolio larger. Accordingly only include your best work.
